Lumbar Osteoarthritis Program (LOP)

The LOP program is designed for the patient with low back pain that has been a problem for some time. This type of pain typically has you “sore” or “stiff” in morning, is painful after standing or sitting for long periods of time, and sometimes limits your ability to participate in activities. Medication may help you but the discomfort returns.

Low back pain of this type is difficult to manage and alleviate, but it can be done. This type of pain usually comes from “arthritis” of the spine. Although you cannot get rid of your arthritis, you can get rid of your pain.

The LOP program has been tailored for these types of patients. This program is very effective in alleviating or significantly decreasing low back pain that is caused by arthritis. What makes the program so successful is that it combines joint injection procedures, which are targeted in the area of the arthritis, with back rehabilitation. This is the way it works: while your pain is controlled by the injections, you are able to move, stretch, and participate in the exercises and activities needed to strengthen and stabilize your low back muscles.

This program is wonderful for decreasing you low back pain, reducing your need for medication, and improving your activity levels so that you can return to a better quality of life!
